Traditional Korean Martial Art At Its Best!

Leejon's Mission Statement

Our commitment is to our students! Those who are willing to explore and open new frontiers in the oldest of Martial Arts. We are committed to support and advance the growth of traditional Taekwondo and not diluting it with commercialism and marketing schemes that carelessly trap students into contracts and payment plans.
Our philosophy is fundamental, we teach from our hearts, not your pockets!

Leejon Taekwondo is a “Traditional Martial Arts School.” Traditional means our program is taught exactly as it was taught over 100+ years ago in Korea. There is no compromise here. Each belt level is earned. A belt level is guided by several factors, (a) attendance, and (b) qualification codes, attendance being most critical. Each training session offers a variety of important elements to help students obtain necessary bits of information to guide them through the path towards Black Belt and beyond. Attendance is monitored very closely. We here at Leejon believe it is not about the goal (the goal being obtaining a Black Belt), but rather it is about the journey. The life lessons, the enhancement of physical abilities allowing students to do things never thought possible, and finally friendships that in some cases last a lifetime. We pride ourselves on having a traditional program.
We are NOT a belt factory. A belt factory is where the art is compromised (watered down) and belts are virtually given away as long as payments are made. We feel this sort of thing gives students a false sense of security and can be considered dangerous!
Come join us and see what true Martial Arts is about!

World Class Poomsae Classes

Taekwondo Poomsae (patterns) are a pre-arranged set of movements which are meant to be practiced by mentally picturing imaginary opponents attacking from all sides. Poomsae practice is intended to teach the martial artist the fundamentals of the art; basic techniques, balance, breathing, co-ordination, situational awareness and concentration. Poomsae is considered as the core of Taekwondo and there are numerous competitions around the world for practitioners of the art to demonstrate their skills.
Poomsae classes are led by Grand Master Ortez with focus on technique, balance and execution. Latest updates from Kukkiwon are discussed and taught regularly.
